JMP

EXTENDED HOURS

We will be offering extended appointment times from early September. We will start consulting at 7.30am each morning from both Ripley and Riddings, and will open till 8pm one evening each week alternating between the sites. We hope this will improve access for those patients who work away.

PATIENT GROUP

We are pleased to report that the first patient participation group took place on Monday April 26th at the Ripley surgery. Please contact us if you are interested in attending a future meeting as more involvement would be great. This is to aid communication between the staff and patients of Jessop Medical Practice, as well as getting more patient involvement with the practice.

FLU CLINICS

The Flu clinics will again be held on two Saturday mornings. The dates for these are October 9th and October 30th. We will soon be writing to eligible patients so please wait till these are received before making an appointment.

****SWINE FLU JABS*****

We are still offering swine flu jabs for those at risk, with clinics available according to demand at both sites. Please book in at your convenience.

NEW RIDDINGS PREMISES

We are pleased to confirm that Planning Permission has been given for our redevelopment. Construction has now begun on the Greenhill Lane site, and we anticipate completion around Easter 2011.

GP TRAINING

We welcome Dr Urvi Vyas and Dr Eileen Parrott back to Jessop for 12 months from August 2010. They have both spent time with us before and this year will complete their GP Training. Their Trainers are Dr Blyth and Dr Mott respectively.

Opening Times (at both sites)

Monday - Friday:07:30 to 18:30

stethoscope

We offer routine appointments which can be booked for both morning and afternoon surgeries. During the day we make provision for patients who need to be seen urgently that day but you must phone the surgery as early as possible that morning, so that we can arrange to see you. Our consultations are by appointment only - please do not expect to be seen if you turn up without one. You may attend whichever surgery you choose for an appointment.

Please note that individual doctors have a variable working pattern, enabling each doctor to work sessions at both surgeries each week. This is to allow us to provide continuity of care to our patients. Several of the doctors work part time. For these reasons, and because of training needs and holidays, you may find you need to vary the surgery you attend to see the doctor of your choice at the earliest date.

We offer routine appointments from 8am and until 6pm for those patients who cannot get to us during the working day. Early or late appointments cannot however be guaranteed.

Routine Appointments
A routine appointment is 10 minutes long. Please remember a separate appointment is needed for each person. If you have several problems to discuss please book a longer (20 minute) appointment. We do our best to run to time but emergencies or complex cases may cause us to run late. Our receptionists will try and let you know when your doctor is running late.

Urgent Appointments
For patients with an urgent medical need, please contact the surgery as soon as you can, ideally, during the morning. Usually, a nurse practitioner will telephone back to find out more about the problem and to work out the best way to help you. She may give advice on the telephone, book you in to see the duty doctor or offer an appointment that day when she can see you herself. You may be asked to visit Riddings surgery to see the duty doctor or nurse practitioner if your problem is of an urgent nature (except for Wednesday afternoons when the duty doctor is at Ripley surgery in the evenings).
